Maintenance Assistant

Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.  Complete assigned routine maintenance and repair tasks at various company facilities
2.  Perform light construction (basic carpentry, painting, etc.
3.  Perform and/or assist with coordination of vehicle and equipment maintenance
4.  Inspect building systems and devices for deficiencies
5.  Assist with event preparation and operations
6.  Perform landscape and lawn maintenance tasks as needed
7.  Perform building custodial tasks as needed
8.  Meet, coordinate, and assist with repairs by third party vendors/contractors as needed
9.  Provide basic logistical support to the Facilities Division

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1.  Experience in maintenance, construction and/or custodial work preferred
2.  Ability to use basic hand tools and common power tools
3.  Ability to operate lawn equipment and similar gas-powered equipment such as a pressure washer
4.  Working knowledge of how common building systems such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC function
5.  Simple problem-solving skills and basic math skills for measures, weights, percentages, etc.
6.  Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts as needed

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
2.   Ability to stoop, squat, bend, crawl, climb, etc. to access remote work areas such as roofs, platforms, crawlspaces, attics, etc.
3.  Ability to work in areas of uneven terrain, high/low temperatures, and exposure to common construction environments

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Frequent interaction with Facilities Director and association departmental staff and management. Occasional interaction with area professionals and others who deal with the association in the
normal course of business.

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Part-time position working to assist the Facilities Director in maintenance of  all facilities of the organization.  This is a part-time temporary position that will last no longer than 6 months.  This position is not eligible for benefits.
