Headquartered in Cullman, Alabama, we have five branch offices and one administrative office that serves the northern 27 counties of our state. We also serve the agricultural-related needs of the two major metropolitan areas of Alabama in Birmingham and Huntsville. Since then, I've gained a background in legal documents, real estate titles, appraisals, and underwriting and farming operations ranging from wineries to timberland and a great deal in between. I've worked in two offices and made loans in over 20 Alabama counties. We're always growing and adjusting to meet our member and industry needs. AFC gave me a chance to have a career in agriculture that I didn't realize was possible growing up on the farm. And, I've made lifelong friends along the way.

Description:

The Appraiser is responsible for simple to complex appraisals for agricultural properties.

Location: Administration Office - Cullman, AL

Reports to: Appraisal Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, or related field plus three (3) or more years of experience in the area of real estate appraisal with preferred emphasis on appraising agricultural properties. State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License required.

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

  • Prepares valuations or appraisals in connection with loans secured by agricultural properties with the development of valuations or appraisals of properties that may involve large and/or complex loans, specialized or highly improved properties, and acquired properties. 
  • Maintains comparable sales data, current improvement cost data, and other resource information required to make accurate evaluations. Communicates findings regarding land and chattel property value trends to management.
