President/Chief Executive Officer

Ben Gore has been with the association since February 1976, and has been the President/CEO since January 2009. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in accounting. Mr. Gore grew up on a part-time cattle farm in North Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association. He serves on the board of directors of the Alabama AgriBusiness Council, the Alabama Poultry & Egg Association, the Cecil Wright Tutoring Center (after-school tutoring program for middle school students) and the Douglas Water Authority (community water system in North Alabama).
Ralph Stewart

Ralph Stewart

Executive Vice President/Chief Credit Officer

Ralph D. Stewart has been with the Farm Credit System since 1997. Before joining Alabama Farm Credit in 2009, he served as a branch manager and regional vice president at Farm Credit Services of Mid-America, where he was responsible for approximately $700 million in assets. Before joining the Farm Credit System, Mr. Stewart worked as a University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension agent. He has a bachelor’s degree in natural resources management from the University of Tennessee at Martin and holds a law degree from the Nashville School of Law. Mr. Stewart grew up in the rural community of McEwen, Tenn. After law school, he served as an interim prosecutor for the 21st Judicial District in Tennessee. He is a lifetime FFA Alumni member and a Shriner. In addition, he is part-owner in a family cow-calf operation, farming over 350 acres in Tennessee. Mr. Stewart is a graduate of the Farm Credit Leadership College and Joint Leadership Development Program.
Karri H. Sumrall, CPA

Karri H. Sumrall, CPA

Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer

Karri Sumrall has been with the association since October 2003. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she received a bachelor’s in accounting and a master’s of accountancy. She is a Certified Public Accountant with more than eight years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining the association, Mrs. Sumrall worked for public accounting firms Ernst and Young, LLC in Birmingham and Jamison, Money and Farmer P.C. in Tuscaloosa, gaining expertise primarily in the banking and manufacturing sectors. Mrs. Sumrall was raised on a family-operated cattle farm in Cullman County. She is a member of the American Society of Women Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants.
