CULLMAN, Ala. – Alabama Farm Credit held its grand opening event Tuesday morning at 300 2nd Ave SW for its new corporate headquarters. The event was attended by members of the city council, county commissioners, the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Woody Jacobs. The building is the fifth branch opened in Alabama and the second building in Cullman. The business is a full-service agricultural mortgage lender that has serviced the 27 counties in North Alabama for over 100 years. Alabama Farm Credit provides financing to help its members purchase farms and rural properties.

Located in an old Wells Fargo bank location, the building still contains the remaining vaults which have been made into a break room and a super quiet library. The building has a business department, marketing room, accounting department, conference rooms and various multi-purpose rooms with comfortable sofas that employees can use as they see fit. The new office encourages a healthy workspace, with a “mother’s room” which contains a refrigerator, noise machine and phone charger and allows members to take a peaceful break.

The meeting room names are Alabama themed: Cotton, Cumberland, Yellowhammer and Sipsey. Also featured is live moss artwork from Foliage Design Systems who decorate the Birmingham International Airport which fits into the agricultural theme. Emily Anderson, a member of Alabama Farm Credit who is a renowned artist, has work featured as well. She receives inspiration from the outdoors and provided a mural of the Sipsey river, as well as paintings for every office in the building.

Alabama Farm Credit will soon be expanding even further and opening several new branches. PR Specialist Wendy Tysinger stated, “Rainbow City should be the next branch to open. We’re supposed to be breaking ground on that one soon.” After the opening of their new branch, the business will only be continuing to speed up its progress and growth.
