Alabama Farm Credit is the cooperative to call if you are looking for types of agriculture loans that will meet your specific needs. When you're ready to get financing for your agriculture loan need, we can help. We've helped members obtain loans for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Land loans to build new construction
  • Loans to buy equipment
  • Land loans to make improvements to the existing farm

The types of agriculture loans we provide include:

Farm Operating Loans

Farm operating loans are available for short-term operating expenses due to natural disasters or crop failure and to finance ongoing, non-capital operating expenses such as feed and seed. In addition, our loans can help members take on additional operating capacity, such as planting more acreage.

Agribusiness Loans

Alabama Farm Credit agribusiness loans can help finance distributors of feed, seed, and chemical providers, farm equipment retailers, and repair services.

New Generation II Loan Program

This loan helps young, beginning, and small farmers meet their financial needs with reduced start-up costs and underwriting standards. In addition, we sponsor or donate to organizations that contribute to the education of this critical group.

Farm Ownership Loans

We provide loans to farmers and anyone who owns or plans to purchase a farm, improve their existing farm, or construct a new farm.

Farm Equipment Loans

Alabama Farm Credit equipment loans are available to finance irrigation and pivots, new and used equipment, tillage, planting and harvesting equipment, and tractors.

Farmland Loans

This agriculture loan can help farmers buy farmland, improve existing farmland, and build new construction on their farmland.

How to Get an Agriculture Loan

As a financial cooperative, Alabama Farm Credit is governed by a local board of directors and owned by borrowers. Our success is your success, and we always have the best interests of our borrowers in mind. We provide our members' value by returning earnings in the form of cash patronage to customers based on annual revenues.
